On March 17, 2019, at the American College of Cardiology, currently taking place in New Orleans, an abstract authored by Sarah Coquis-Knezek, Marc Silver, Sanchit Puri, and Legacy Heart Care of Fort Worth, TX was presented demonstrating, in a patient cohort with angina and HFpEF, that EECP significantly improved six-minute walk distance, functional capacity, and symptoms. The authors propose that, given the high morbidity and mortality and limited pharmacological options available for these patients, Enhanced External Counterpulsation (EECP) could be a safe and cost-effective treatment option.
