Dr.S.Ramasamy President of the International Cardiology EECP/ECP Society (ICES) and one the global pioneers in the field of External Counterpulation (EECP/ECP) therapy has made a great effort to bring to market a reference book for EECP/ECP clinical training. The book entitled “Enhanced External Counterpulsation Waveform Interpretation and Clinical Application” will be the first published single point reference textbook for EECP/ECP providers.

Enhanced External Counterpulsaton (EECP/ECP) treatment has been widely used in clinical cardiology as a non -surgical treatment for patients with ischemic heart disease and heart failure for 20+ years. Even though there are many experts worldwide, who have had years of experience with the therapy, there is no concise textbook or guide available to the practicing physicians in the field on how to treat patients effectively and achieve optimum patient benefit using EECP/ECP technology.

International Cardiology EECP/ECP Society (ICES) is a professional organization founded to support Non-Invasive Counterpulsation providers worldwide by implementing guidelines and making available an advanced clinical EECP/ECP training program to physicians and therapists. ICES, as a global leader along with support from the International EECP society (IEECPS) and its industrial partner, Heal Your Heart® Vaso-Meditech EECP centers, is publishing the first textbook on Enhanced External Counterpulsation (EECP/ECP).

While EECP/ECP has been available for many years, experts and researchers in the field who have had a global view, have seen that there is a variance in clinical benefits in EECP/ECP centers around the world. Differences in initial in-service training between manufacturers and changes in personnel without proper training and inconsistent treatment techniques have created opportunities for less than optimal patient benefit. This book addresses these issues by providing clear guidelines in key areas such as timing cuff inflation and deflation during EECP/ECP treatment, waveform interpretation and adjusting to changes in the waveform.
